Memories….So many of our best memories can be triggered by a scent of something cooking or baking in the oven. Lately I’ve had an interest in preserving family recipes so they won’t be lost. I also plan on framing some of the ones that mean the most to me to hang in my kitchen, You can tell they have been made frequently and often dripped and dropped on.
This recipe is the cake I always asked my mom to bake for my birthday. We grew raspberries in our backyard and always had frozen ones on hand. She would use a maple fudge icing on the top.
We had many, many pecan pies, always baked on Sat. for dinner on Sun. The pecans were usually bought down in South Carolina, and brought back just for these pies.
I think my Grandma wrote this recipe…after reading it over….I have no idea what “star shape beets” are. Have you ever grown any?
Molly’s Cookie Treats are one of my favorites….I haven’t made these for years…I think I might just have to go and bake some right now!
Chocolate Fudge was a Christmas tradition. Always a nice treat to have in the house when friends stop in!
