Never Enough Thyme

In today’s busy world….I find it’s the DEstressing pastimes that people are cutting out of their lives.  Like taking the time to stop  and smell the roses

If you ask older people what they should have spent more time doing, it’s always agreed that friends and family are what matter, and where you should be spending your time and energy. We need to indulge ourselves in reading a book, taking the time to teach a friend to knit. writing a quick note of thanks to someone.

While my daughter’s been home with her broken ankle we have spent time knitting and crocheting. We started to crochet a new pattern of scarf… you may have seen something like them and wondered how they were made. It’s so relaxing…and when you’re finished you have that sense of accomplishment and the added bonus when someone complements you on it.

This is the pattern we used and it was so fun and easy to make.

Getting Ready

Well, it was a busy day today….getting all ready for Good Friday. It’s my job to decorate the church, and I love buying the flowers and decorating. Although it’s something you can’t do ahead of time, which means alot of running around in crowds when you could be at home coloring easter eggs or baking something yummy for an early breakfast.

After just seeing alot of snow and ice for the last few months….I must admit the color of fresh flowers, and the smell of tulips and hyacinth’s was heavenly.

Next thing to do on my list is make a lasagna and a perogie lasagna.    http://www.cooks.com/rec/view/0,188,151164-226204,00.html

If you like perogies….you will love this. It’s a crowd pleaser.

We can’t ever forget the reason we celebrate this holiday….it’s not about a bunny and eggs.

These two youtubes do an excellent job of reminding us to stop and reflect on the real story. Only one man died for us…to give us everlasting life. What an amazing sacrifice. What a life! To think he only lived on the earth for 33 years and His story has been told for centuries. Listen to it again……

Victoria

I   LOVE  Victoria Magazine. I don't know how many of you have ever picked up a copy, but I must say....I have NEVER been disappointed yet. I own every copy since their first edition. Some of them look pretty well used...and that would be because they have been. The photography alone is top rate. The stories of homes, gardens, fashion, cooking, from around the world, are so well put together. I love all things pretty, and this magazine is elegant, romantic, timeless, and pretty!
Spring is the time of year you just want to switch thing up around your house. Clean out the cobwebs, and add pretty bright touches to your space to lighten things up. Spring is my favorite time of year. The time of new life. New beginnings. New growth.
My favorite Victoria Magazine issues have always been May, June and July. The gardening, the beach, the fresh colors they use. Now that Easter is this week, it's time for fresh flowers , bunnies, and eggs. I have to say I'm a bit behind this year due to circumstances beyond my control, but I do have a few days left to pull it all together.

Tax Time

Well today I had to bite the bullet and work on my taxes...seems like just yesterday I just went through all of this. Well, I did get the work done before I played. I've been working on a quilt and thought I'd give you just a little peek....

Well what do you think...it's a Celtic quilt with 20 blocks, all blocks are 18". Each block is a different design, and I've loved making each and every one. Soon I will be sewing them all together and can see what they look like all in one big design. I enjoy each step of the quilting process, picking out the pattern, then the fabrics, cutting, piecing, layout designing, sewing it all together, pinning the three quilt layers together, pinning, hand or machine quilting, and finally, the binding. Love the binding step! Quilting does require alot of patience but like anything in life, It makes it sooo much more worth it in the end!

I used to have a little friend who stayed with me while I quilted. I have recently lost her and she is sadly missed.

It's getting late, and I may need my energy for some quilting tomorrow...so good night all.

What to wear?

Lately, that's the question. Each day brings it's own surprises this time of year. The weatherman tries to predict, but quite often has been wrong lately. Short sleeves, long sleeves, winter coat, light jacket??? I'm hoping to go and get a much needed haircut and highlights tomorrow. Hope it doesn't rain. It always boosts my spirits, getting a new doo. I can't wait to go to a girls night out at our local decor/jewellery store where they will have great sales, and the jewellery designers right there to talk to. I already know what I want and am so excited. Last time I bought this.

The designer is in Toronto...I will try to upload a link....I'm still learning!

First a howling blizzard woke us,
Then the rain came down to soak us.
And now before the eye can focus---CROCUS.

Amazing Women

Well here I am on my third blog....today I took a trip around the blog world and it is truely an amazing place. I have been following blogs for a few years, but just never attempted to make one of my own. What a unique venue it has been for women to connect, create, and develope in ways they never, ever, could have. Many of the photos and products out there, were taken and made by women like you and I. Many, I have recognized in top selling magazines. It's overwhelming, the ideas and creativity that's out there. Sooo inspiring!

"The way to know life is to love many things."

Sometimes I think that's my problem.....I love many things.

Creativity is a gift....we should use it and share it.

Here's to all of the amazing women out there blogging, raising families,
working, creating and enjoying a full, and beautiful life.
LIVE WITH PASSION!!!

Passion

What would you do with your time if you didn't HAVE to work?

It's really something to think about...how many people have you read about that take the plunge and give up their day job to do something they really love? It must take alot of courage. Is there something you think of in the back of your mind as you fight traffic driving to work? What would your perfect job

be...where would you have to move to have that job? Would you then be content? Stress free? Relaxed? Would you be inside or outside? I love my job most days...but on the bad, stress filled days I'd give it up in a second. What would I choose to do instead?
What would you do?

Waiting.....

Apparently it is spring. We are still WAITING for it to feel like it. After a long winter everyone needs that hope of new life, that first brave flower, the robin's who mysteriously reappear, the curtain finally blowing in the breeze. People need change...a new beginning. In our climate our changing seasons give us that.
I read this cute quote lately....
If nothing ever changed----there would be no butterflies!
We all tend to resist change, but in the end, when we think back....it's the change that we went through that helps us grow into a better wiser person than what we would have been. Right?
